Concussions in Youth

Brain injury is the leading cause of sports injury deaths, according to Stanford Children’s Hospital. Sports injuries account for 21 percent of traumatic brain injuries. Nearly 50 percent of sports-related injuries occur during bicycling, skateboarding, and skating events.

Coronavirus & Youth Sports

Youth sports are ordinarily a gathering place for millions of people at thousands of sites across the country. During this difficult time, the Aspen Institute’s Sports & Society Program is collecting information on how the outbreak is impacting youth sports, a focus of our Project Play initiative. We are compiling resources, developing reports, and producing webinars for parents, coaches and leaders to respond to the situation. This page will be updated regularly with information gathered from public communication by sports organizations and direct outreach to leaders in our Project Play network.

UN SG Report on “Sport: A Global Accelerator of Peace and Sustainable Development For All”

The report, submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 73/24, reviews progress towards implementation of the United Nations Action Plan on Sport for Development and Peace, drawing on input received from Member States, the United Nations system, and other stakeholders.

Çocuk İşçiliğinin Sona Erdirilmesi

2021 yılının Birleşmiş Milletler tarafından “Çocuk İşçiliğinin Sona Erdirilmesi Uluslararası Yılı” ilan edilmesi üzerine, BM Türkiye Mukim Koordinatörü ve ILO Türkiye Direktörü, bireysel ve kurumsal taahhütler yoluyla çocuk işçiliğini sona erdirmek için eylem çağrısı yaptı. – Rodriguez ve Özcan: “Hepimiz üzerimize düşeni yapmalı ve çocuk işçiliğini sona erdirme sözü vermeliyiz.”
